The GP2Y1014AU0F is a reliable and low-cost solution for sensing air quality. It works on the principle of light scattering: an internal infrared LED emits light, and a sensor detects how much of that light is reflected by dust particles passing through the hole.4 It is sensitive enough to detect particles as small as 0.8 micrometers (µm), making it effective for PM2.5 monitoring.5

Easy Analog Interface

The sensor outputs an Analog Voltage proportional to the dust density in the air.6 The more dust, the higher the voltage. This makes it incredibly easy to interface with any microcontroller like Arduino, ESP32, or Raspberry Pi (with an ADC).7

Improved Performance

This “14AU0F” model is the successor to the older “10AU0F”.8 It features improved sensitivity (0.5V per 0.1mg/m3) and better electromagnetic shielding, resulting in cleaner data readings for your projects.9
